Culture does not survive merely because it is recorded in books. It survives because people live it, discuss it, question it, celebrate it and pass its meaning to the next generation. It can be found in the stories grandparents tell, the meals families prepare, the music played at celebrations, the languages spoken at home and the values expressed through everyday choices.

For communities living away from their ancestral homelands, preserving culture can bring both joy and challenge. Parents may want their children to understand their heritage, while young people are also forming identities within a wider society. If culture is presented only as a collection of duties, it may feel distant. If it is explained through meaning, dialogue and lived experience, it can become a source of confidence.

Radio Your World 360 will help create this dialogue.

Our cultural programmes will explore traditions with warmth, curiosity and relevance. Rather than simply announcing that a festival is taking place, we will examine what it represents. Diwali, for example, can open a conversation about overcoming inner darkness, renewing relationships and choosing hope. Holi can stimulate discussion about joy, equality and renewal. Navratri can lead to reflections on courage, discipline and the many dimensions of feminine strength.

We will ask how cultural and philosophical values can guide modern life. What can the Bhagavad Gita teach a young person about responsibility and resilience? What can the example of Lord Ganesha teach entrepreneurs about wisdom, listening and overcoming obstacles? What can the life of Lord Krishna teach leaders about strategy, communication and purposeful action? These discussions can help timeless ideas speak to contemporary challenges.

The station will also welcome diverse cultural perspectives. Celebrating one’s heritage does not require diminishing another person’s identity. On the contrary, secure cultural confidence can create greater openness. When people understand the depth of their own traditions, they may become more curious about the histories, beliefs and celebrations of their neighbours.

Music and entertainment will be vital parts of this cultural bridge. Songs carry memories across borders and generations. A classic melody may remind an older listener of childhood, while a contemporary fusion track may express the blended identity of a younger generation. Film, theatre, dance, poetry and comedy also reveal how cultures evolve while retaining connections to their roots.

Food provides another powerful route into culture. A family recipe carries geography, memory and affection. Conversations about sattvic food, regional dishes, festival meals and changing dietary habits can introduce wider subjects such as health, sustainability, migration and family relationships. What begins as a discussion about food may become a story about belonging.

We want older generations to share their experiences before those memories are lost. They can describe migration journeys, early community organisations, changing attitudes, struggles against discrimination and the creation of places of worship and cultural celebration. Their stories can help younger listeners appreciate the foundations upon which today’s opportunities were built.

Young people must also be given space to speak. They can explain what culture means to them, where they feel tension and how traditions might be communicated more effectively. Culture cannot remain alive if every question is treated as disrespect. Thoughtful questioning can lead to deeper understanding and stronger ownership.

Radio Your World 360 will create a shared space in which generations can listen to one another. Grandparents can tell stories, parents can discuss challenges and young people can express their aspirations. The aim is not to force everyone into the same experience, but to strengthen the connections that allow a culture to develop without losing its soul.

Heritage tells us that we belong to a continuing story. Dialogue allows each generation to add its own chapter.

Celebrate your roots. Share your memories. Ask your questions. Create your legacy. Your Culture lives on Radio Your World 360.
